Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 small white onions, sliced into 1/4 inch thin rounds
- 7 oz shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
Seasonings
- Salt, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Paprika, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a 12x17 inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Prepare the cheese layer. Evenly sprinkle a thin layer of shredded parmesan cheese over the parchment-lined baking sheet to create a crispy base for the onion rings.
- Arrange the onion slices. Place the 1/4 inch thin onion rounds on top of the cheese layer, making sure they do not overlap but sit closely together to achieve even cooking and crispiness.
- Add oil and seasonings. Brush the tops of the arranged onion rings lightly with olive oil, then sprinkle salt, garlic powder, and paprika over them to enhance flavor.
- Bake the chips. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 18 minutes or until the onion ring chips are golden brown and crispy around the edges.
- Cool and serve. Allow the onion ring chips to cool on the baking sheet for 5 to 10 minutes, which lets them firm up before gently breaking them apart to serve. Enjoy them with your favorite dip, such as the recommended Lazy Tzatziki.

- Always use parchment paper on your baking sheet; aluminum foil or wax paper will not work properly for this recipe.
- Make sure the onions are sliced thinly (about 1/4 inch) for optimal crispiness.
