A refreshing, nutrient-packed Avocado Blueberry Smoothie that combines creamy avocado, sweet blueberries, and a blend of superfood powders for a delicious and healthy start to your day. Perfect for a quick breakfast or post-workout boost.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 2 cups blueberries (frozen, about 10 oz)
  • 4 oz avocado (about half avocado or 1/2 cup)
  • 1 ripe banana

Liquids

  • 1 ½ cup almond milk (organic or regular)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ½ tablespoon maple syrup

Optional Add-ins

  • ½ tablespoon flax meal or chia seeds
  • 1 handful spinach
  • Vegan vanilla protein powder (quantity to taste, typically 1 scoop)

Superfood Powders & Nut Butter

  • ½ teaspoon spirulina
  • 3 teaspoons maca powder
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients. Wash all the fresh ingredients thoroughly, including the spinach if using. Pit the dates if you choose to add them for extra sweetness. Measure all ingredients with measuring spoons and cups for accuracy.
  2. Add to blender. Place the frozen blueberries, avocado, ripe banana, almond milk, water, maple syrup, and any optional ingredients such as flax meal, spinach, vanilla protein powder, spirulina, maca powder, and almond butter into a high-speed blender.
  3. Blend until smooth. Blend all ingredients on high speed until you achieve a creamy and uniform consistency. To adjust thickness, omit water and ice cubes for a thicker smoothie or add more almond milk or water for a thinner consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust flavor. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup or dates if desired. Adjust creaminess by adding more plant milk as needed.
  5. Serve cold. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately for the best fresh flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a thicker smoothie, you can substitute or add frozen banana or peaches.
  • Optional add-ins like spinach or flax meal increase the nutritional value without altering the flavor significantly.
  • Use organic almond milk for a richer protein content.
  • Adjust the number of superfood powder teaspoons based on your taste preference and tolerance.
  • Consume immediately to benefit from the maximum nutrient content and fresh flavor.
