Ingredients
Salmon
- 1 1/2 to 2 lbs fresh salmon, cut into 4 filets
- Sea salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tsp ground paprika
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 6 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the salmon.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl until fully melted. Immediately stir in the minced garlic to infuse the butter with flavor. Alternatively, melt butter and sauté garlic on the stovetop if preferred.
- Arrange Salmon: Place the salmon filets skin-side down in a large casserole dish or rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle about two tablespoons of the garlic butter mixture evenly over each filet, ensuring they are well coated.
- Season Salmon: Sprinkle sea salt, black pepper, and ground paprika evenly over each salmon filet to enhance flavor.
- Bake Salmon: Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to cook through gently.
- Broil for Crispiness: After baking, switch the oven setting to High Broil. Broil the salmon for 4 to 6 minutes, or until the top is crispy and the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Check Doneness: Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the thickest part of the salmon. The FDA recommends 145°F, but many prefer 110°F to 130°F for a tender texture.
- Serve: Serve the salmon immediately, drizzling with the remaining garlic butter sauce. Complement with lemon slices and your choice of sides for a complete meal.
Notes
- Melting butter in the microwave is quick, but sautéing garlic in butter on the stove adds more depth of flavor.
- Adjust broiling time carefully to avoid overcooking or burning the salmon.
- Cooking times vary depending on salmon filet thickness; always check with a thermometer.
- Pair this salmon with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
