Ingredients
Dough
- 1 pound bread dough (thawed)
Filling
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (or 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic)
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
- Remaining 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
- Remaining 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- Prep Dough: Make sure the frozen bread dough is completely thawed according to package instructions before starting.
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Grease a 9x9-inch square baking pan with cooking spray. Preheat the oven to 350℉ (175℃).
- Roll Out Dough: On a clean surface, roll out the thawed bread dough into a rectangle approximately 14 inches by 10 inches.
- Spread Butter and Garlic: Evenly spread the softened butter all over the dough. Sprinkle the minced garlic over the butter layer, spreading it out if necessary for even flavor.
- Add Cheese and Parsley: Sprinkle 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese, and 1 teaspoon chopped parsley evenly on top of the butter-garlic layer.
- Roll the Dough: Carefully roll the dough tightly from one long edge to form a log shape.
- Slice Rolls: Using a serrated knife, cut the dough log into 9 equal-sized slices.
- Arrange in Pan: Place the rolls cut side up in the prepared baking pan in three rows of three.
- Add Remaining Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 22 to 25 minutes until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and enjoy the cheesy garlic rolls warm for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- If fresh minced garlic is not available, substitute with 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic for similar flavor.
- A 9x9-inch square baking pan is ideal; if unavailable, a 7x11-inch pan can be used as a substitute.
- This recipe also works well with a 13.8-ounce tube of refrigerated pizza dough, although frozen bread dough yields preferred texture and flavor.
