4.1 from 1 review

Indulge in these luscious Coffee and Chocolate Parfaits, a delightful no-bake dessert combining rich coffee-infused chocolate mousse with crunchy Oreo layers, topped with whipped cream and chocolate coffee beans for a perfect finish.

  • Total Time: 3 hours (including chilling and setting time)
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Coffee Chocolate Mousse

  • 2 tsp instant coffee
  • 500ml cream
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped

Other Ingredients

  • 1½ packets Oreo biscuits
  • 1 can whipped cream
  • Chocolate coffee beans, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Coffee Mixture: Place the instant coffee in a cup, add a splash of boiling water, and mix until fully dissolved. Set aside to cool.
  2. Heat Cream and Add Chocolate: In a small saucepan over low heat, warm 250ml of the cream until bubbles begin forming around the edges. Add the chopped dark chocolate and the dissolved coffee mixture, stirring continuously until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Combine and Chill Mixture: Remove the saucepan from heat and pour the chocolate mixture into a glass jug or bowl. Add the remaining 250ml of cream and stir until smooth. Chill in the freezer for 30 minutes to thicken slightly.
  4. Whisk the Mousse: After chilling, stir the mixture, then use a mixer or hand beater to whisk it until soft peaks form. Be careful not to over-whip to prevent curdling.
  5. Prepare Oreo Layers: Blitz the Oreo biscuits in a food processor until finely crumbled, creating the texture for layers.
  6. Assemble Parfaits: In 6 serving glasses, layer the dessert starting with a portion of the coffee chocolate mousse, followed by a layer of crumbled Oreos. Repeat for a second mousse and Oreo layer.
  7. Set in Refrigerator: Refrigerate the assembled parfaits for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow them to set properly.
  8. Finish and Serve: Remove the parfaits from the fridge 10 minutes before serving to soften. Top each parfait with a generous layer of whipped cream, sprinkle over some additional Oreo crumbs, and garnish with chocolate coffee beans.

Notes

  • Do not over-whip the mousse as it may separate or curdle.
  • Chilling the mousse before whipping is crucial to achieve the right texture.
  • The parfaits can be made a day ahead for convenience and better flavor melding.
  • Substitute whipped cream with a non-dairy alternative for a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust the amount of coffee to your taste preference for stronger or milder coffee flavor.
