Ingredients
Cheese Ball Mixture
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 jar (about 2.25 oz) Armour dried beef, chopped
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Coating
- 1 jar (about 2.25 oz) Armour dried beef, chopped
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the room temperature cream cheese with one jar of chopped dried beef, four chopped green onions, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Use a hand mixer or a sturdy spoon to blend until all ingredients are evenly incorporated and smooth.
- Prepare the Coating Mix: In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining chopped dried beef and the remaining sliced green onions. This mixture will be used to coat the cheese ball and add texture and extra flavor.
- Form the Cheese Ball: Lightly oil or spray your hands with nonstick spray to prevent sticking. Shape the cheese mixture into a smooth, compact ball shape, making sure it's evenly packed.
- Coat the Cheese Ball: Roll the cream cheese ball in the dried beef and scallion mixture until it is thoroughly and evenly coated on all sides, ensuring maximum flavor coverage.
- Serve or Refrigerate: Serve the cheese ball immediately as a delicious appetizer, or refrigerate until ready to serve. Chilling will help the flavors meld and firm up the cheese ball for easier slicing or spreading.
Notes
- Room temperature cream cheese is key for easy mixing and a smooth texture.
- If you prefer a milder flavor, rinse the dried beef briefly and pat dry before chopping.
- Refrigerate the cheese ball for at least 1 hour prior to serving for optimal texture and flavor development.
- This cheese ball pairs well with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetable sticks.
- Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to make smaller individual cheese balls for bite-sized servings.
