These Easy Smoked Salmon Roll Ups are a delightful and quick lunch or snack option featuring smoked salmon wrapped around a zesty lemon and green onion cream cheese filling, fresh cucumber, and creamy avocado, all seasoned with Everything But The Bagel seasoning. A refreshing citrus soy dipping sauce complements the roll ups, adding a savory and tangy kick.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

For the Salmon Roll Ups:

  • 8 oz. smoked salmon
  • ½ cup whipped cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 small Persian cucumber, sliced into thin strips
  • ½ of an avocado, sliced into thin strips
  • Everything But The Bagel Seasoning (EBTB), as needed

For the Citrus Soy Sauce (Optional):

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1½ tsp mirin
  • 1 Tbsp green onion, sliced thin

Instructions

  1. Make the Citrus Soy Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, lemon juice, water, mirin, and thinly sliced green onion. Chill it in the refrigerator while preparing the salmon roll ups to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling: In another small bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, thinly sliced green onion, and lemon zest. Mix thoroughly until smooth and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Salmon Base: Lay a large piece of plastic wrap flat on the counter. Sprinkle a generous amount of Everything But The Bagel Seasoning evenly over the plastic wrap. Arrange the smoked salmon slices on top of the seasoning, overlapping slightly to form a small rectangular sheet.
  4. Add the Filling and Vegetables: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the salmon rectangle. In the center, layer the thin strips of Persian cucumber and avocado lengthwise.
  5. Roll the Salmon: Using the plastic wrap edges, carefully lift and roll the salmon over the filling and vegetables to form a tight roll. Continue rolling until fully sealed, using the plastic wrap to help maintain shape.
  6. Chill the Roll: Place the wrapped salmon roll in the freezer for 5 to 10 minutes to firm up slightly, which makes slicing easier and neater.
  7. Slice and Serve: Remove the roll from the freezer and unwrap. Slice into rounds to your preferred thickness. Serve immediately with the chilled citrus soy sauce, or enjoy with your favorite crackers.

Notes

  • Black and white sesame seeds can be used as an alternative to Everything But The Bagel Seasoning if preferred.
  • If not serving with the citrus soy sauce, these roll ups are delicious on top of Ritz crackers or Milton's Crispy Sea Salt Crackers for added crunch.
