Ingredients
Chicken
- 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat and Season: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika, then set them aside.
- Prepare Garlic Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 teaspoon paprika with melted butter, Italian seasoning, chopped parsley, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly and set aside.
- Sear Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust.
- Add Garlic Butter and Bake: Pour the prepared garlic butter sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is cooked through.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven. Spoon some of the remaining garlic butter sauce from the skillet over the chicken breasts. Optionally garnish with additional fresh parsley before serving for extra flavor and presentation.
Notes
- Storage: Let the chicken cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. Glass containers are preferred as they don’t retain odors and are easy to clean.
- Fridge Life: Store refrigerated chicken for up to 4 days.
- Freezing: Freeze cooked chicken for up to 3 months. For convenience, shred, dice, or slice before freezing.
- Reheating: Reheat in the microwave with a damp paper towel covering the container to maintain moisture and prevent drying out.
