Ingredients
Strawberry Syrup/Sauce
- 3 cups fresh sliced strawberries, stems removed
- 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 lemon, freshly-squeezed
- 3 tablespoons strawberry preserves/jam
- 1/4 teaspoon Dessert Lover Blend
Milkshake
- 2 cups dairy-free vanilla ice cream (such as So Delicious Dairy-Free)
- 1 1/2 cups almond milk (or whole milk or preferred plant-based milk)
- 2 tablespoons cooled strawberry sauce (from above)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings
- Coconut whipped cream
- Sliced fresh strawberries
- Cooled strawberry sauce, for drizzle
- Rainbow sprinkles, vegan-friendly
Instructions
- Make the Strawberry Syrup/Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the fresh sliced strawberries, organic cane sugar, water, freshly-squeezed lemon juice, strawberry preserves, and Dessert Lover Blend. Stir frequently as the strawberries soften and the mixture starts to simmer and thicken, about 5-6 minutes. Once thickened, remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely.
- Prepare the Milkshake: In a high-powered blender, add the dairy-free vanilla ice cream, 2 tablespoons of the cooled strawberry sauce, vanilla extract, and almond milk. Blend on medium-high speed for 1-2 minutes until the milkshake is smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Milkshake: Spoon a few spoonfuls of the remaining cooled strawberry sauce into tall glasses. Pour the blended milkshake over the sauce.
- Add Toppings: Top each milkshake with a generous dollop of coconut whipped cream, sliced fresh strawberries, a light drizzle of strawberry sauce, and vegan-friendly rainbow sprinkles for a festive finish.
- Serve and Enjoy: Insert a straw and serve immediately to enjoy this refreshing and fruity dairy-free strawberry milkshake.
Notes
- You can substitute the almond milk with any other plant-based milk or regular whole milk as per preference.
- The Dessert Lover Blend is a custom spice blend; if unavailable, you can omit or substitute with a pinch of cinnamon for a subtle warmth.
- For a thicker milkshake, add more ice cream or reduce the amount of almond milk slightly.
- This recipe is naturally dairy-free and can be made vegan by using vegan-friendly ice cream, preserves, and whipped cream toppings.
- Prepare the strawberry syrup in advance and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days for convenience.
