Ingredients
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup milk kefir
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
Instructions
- Add the kefir: Pour the 3/4 cup of milk kefir into a pint-sized jar or a small bowl, which will serve as the base for the pudding.
- Add in the sweetener and vanilla: Pour 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the kefir. This will add sweetness and flavor to the pudding.
- Mix well: Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure the maple syrup and vanilla are fully combined with the kefir.
- Add in the chia seeds: Add 1/4 cup of chia seeds to the liquid mixture. Stir well to ensure all chia seeds are coated and not clumped together. Scrape down the sides of the jar or bowl to submerge as many seeds as possible.
- Cover: Place an airtight lid on the jar or cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap to prevent contamination and moisture loss.
- Chill: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 4 hours to allow the chia seeds to absorb the liquid and thicken into a pudding-like consistency. For best results, chill overnight.
Notes
- Using a pint-sized jar with a lid makes it easy to mix and store the pudding.
- Maple syrup can be substituted with honey or agave syrup if preferred.
- Allowing the pudding to chill overnight results in a thicker and creamier texture.
- Stir the pudding once or twice during chilling to break up any clumps if desired.
