3.9 from 68 reviews

A quick and easy 5-minute vegan smoothie bowl made with just three main ingredients. This nutrient-dense, naturally sweet smoothie bowl is perfect for a satisfying breakfast or snack. Topped with wholesome toppings like shredded coconut, chia seeds, and fresh strawberries, it offers a delicious and healthy plant-based option.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 smoothie bowl

Ingredients

Smoothie Bowl

  • 1 heaping cup organic frozen mixed berries
  • 1 small ripe banana, sliced and frozen
  • 2-3 Tbsp light coconut or almond milk (plus more as needed)
  • 1 scoop plain or vanilla protein powder of choice (optional)

Toppings (optional)

  • 1 Tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut (desiccated)
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp hemp seeds
  • Granola
  • Fresh fruit such as strawberries

Instructions

  1. Blend Frozen Fruits: Add the frozen mixed berries and the frozen sliced banana to a blender. Blend on low speed until the fruits break down into small bits but still have some texture.
  2. Add Liquids and Protein: Pour in 2-3 tablespoons of light coconut or almond milk and add protein powder if using. Blend again on low speed, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture reaches a soft-serve consistency similar to ice cream.
  3. Serve and Top: Scoop the smoothie mixture into one or two serving bowls depending on batch size. Top with your choice of shredded coconut, chia seeds, hemp seeds, granola, fresh strawberries, or nut/seed butter for added texture and nutrition.
  4. Storage and Serving Tips: Consume fresh for the best taste. Leftovers can be stored in the freezer for 1-2 weeks. Thaw adequately before enjoying if reheated.

Notes

  • Choose from recommended vegan protein powders such as Aloha Vanilla, Naturade Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder, Sun Warrior Vanilla, or Vega Vanilla for best results.
  • Nutrition facts are estimated without including toppings, so final values may vary.
  • For blending, a high-quality blender is recommended to achieve the perfect texture.
