Pear Cream is a smooth, creamy, and naturally sweet dessert or spread made from canned pears and cashews. This easy no-cook recipe blends canned pears, their syrup, cashews, and vanilla to create a deliciously light and versatile cream that can be enjoyed immediately or chilled. It is perfect as a yogurt alternative, dessert base, or spread, offering a dairy-free and naturally sweet treat with a subtle hint of vanilla.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups (500 g) canned pears
  • 2/3 cup (150 ml) canned pear syrup
  • 1 cup (130 g) cashews
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional

  • Maple syrup to taste (depending on sweetness of canned pears)
  • Cinnamon, for garnish
  • Granola, for garnish
  • Chopped nuts, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Drain the canned pears, reserving the syrup. Measure out 2 1/4 cups (500 g) of canned pears and 2/3 cup (150 ml) of the pear syrup for the recipe.
  2. Blend the ingredients: Place the canned pears, pear syrup, and cashews into a blender or food processor. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor. Blend everything until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency.
  3. Adjust sweetness: Taste the pear cream and, if desired, add maple syrup to adjust sweetness according to your preference. Blend briefly to incorporate.
  4. Serve immediately or refrigerate: Pour the pear cream into a bowl and serve right away, or cover and refrigerate for later use to enjoy chilled.
  5. Garnish and enjoy: Optionally, drizzle extra maple syrup on top and sprinkle with cinnamon, granola, or chopped nuts for added flavor and crunch. This pear cream is delightful as a spread, a yogurt alternative, or a base for desserts.

Notes

  • You can soak the cashews for 1-2 hours in warm water for a smoother texture if desired, but this step is optional.
  • Use canned pears with syrup for natural sweetness; adjust maple syrup accordingly based on pear sweetness.
  • This recipe is naturally dairy-free and can be adapted to vegan diets.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
