Ingredients
Pepperoncini Dip
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ⅓ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
- 2 Tablespoons pepperoncini juice, from jar
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt & pepper, to taste
Bagel Chips
- 3 large plain bagels
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Pepperoncini Dip: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sliced pepperoncini peppers along with their juice, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well incorporated. Season with salt and pepper according to taste preferences. Transfer the dip to a serving container and chill in the refrigerator while you prepare the bagel chips.
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil to prepare for the bagel chips.
- Prepare the Bagel Chips: Slice each bagel in half and then cut each half into 1-inch wedges. Place the bagel wedges into a large bowl and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, dried oregano, and kosher salt, ensuring all pieces are evenly coated.
- Bake the Bagel Chips: Arrange the seasoned bagel wedges in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, turning or tossing halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crisping. Once golden and crisp, remove from oven and allow the chips to cool completely.
- Serve: Present the chilled pepperoncini dip alongside the cooled bagel chips. Optionally, serve with fresh vegetables or crackers for additional variety.
Notes
- Bagels: You can substitute plain bagels with onion or everything bagels for added flavor.
- More Spice: To increase the heat, add ½ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes into the dip.
- Other Accompaniments: Pepperoncini dip pairs well with fresh vegetables or crackers if you prefer not to use bagel chips.
- Storage: Store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Keep bagel chips at room temperature in an airtight container for 1-2 days to maintain crispness.
