Ritz Cracker Party Sandwiches are a delightful and easy-to-make appetizer featuring layers of ham, turkey, and cheese atop buttery Ritz crackers, finished with a flavorful baked and broiled topping seasoned with Everything Bagel seasoning. Perfect for gatherings, these bite-sized sandwiches combine savory, cheesy, and buttery flavors with a satisfying crunch.

  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

Crackers and Meat

  • 48 Ritz crackers
  • 12 slices deli ham
  • 12 slices deli turkey

Cheese

  • 3 slices cheddar cheese
  • 3 slices Havarti cheese

Butter Mixture and Seasoning

  • 4 Tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F to prepare for baking the sandwiches.
  2. Arrange Crackers: Place 24 Ritz crackers face down in a 13x9 inch baking dish, arranging them in 4 rows of 6 crackers each.
  3. Prepare Meat Toppings: Cut each slice of deli ham and turkey into fourths, then stack the four pieces of meat neatly on top of each cracker, ensuring each cracker gets approximately one whole slice of meat.
  4. Add Cheese: Slice each cheddar and Havarti cheese slice into fourths. Place the small cheese pieces on top of the meat layer on each cracker.
  5. Bake to Melt Cheese: Put the baking dish in the oven and bake for 10 minutes until the cheese melts nicely over the meats.
  6. Make Butter Mixture: While baking, combine the melted butter with onion powder and garlic powder in a small bowl, mixing well to infuse the flavors.
  7. Add Top Crackers: After removing the dish from the oven, place the remaining 24 Ritz crackers right side up on top of each melted cheese-covered cracker, forming sandwiches.
  8. Butter and Season: Using a basting brush, generously brush each sandwich top with the butter and seasoning mixture. Sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning over each sandwich to add an extra burst of flavor.
  9. Broil for Crispiness: Increase the oven temperature to broil and return the sandwiches to the oven for 1 to 2 minutes, just until the tops are lightly browned and crispy. Watch closely to avoid burning.

Notes

  • Cut deli meat and cheese evenly for consistent flavor per sandwich.
  • Be careful during broiling as the tops can brown quickly.
  • Everything Bagel seasoning can be substituted with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if unavailable.
  • Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
  • These sandwiches can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
