Ingredients
Chicken
- 1-1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 4 pieces)
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Glaze
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Sprinkle kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides of the chicken thighs. Let them stand for 5 minutes to absorb the seasoning while you prepare other ingredients.
- Prepare to Roast: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and generously coat it with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Make the Glaze: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, honey, and pressed garlic until combined. Place the chicken thighs in the bowl and turn them repeatedly to coat well in the glaze.
- Arrange the Chicken: Transfer the glazed chicken thighs to the prepared baking sheet. Using tongs, tuck the sides of each thigh so they mimic the thickness and shape of bone-in thighs for even cooking.
- Glaze and Discard Excess: Spoon any remaining glaze over the chicken thighs before placing in the oven. Discard any leftover glaze that has touched the raw chicken to avoid contamination.
- Roast: Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), ensuring the chicken is fully cooked and juicy.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before serving, allowing the juices to redistribute for maximum flavor and tenderness.
Notes
- You can substitute bone-in thighs for a slightly different texture; adjust cooking time accordingly.
- If you don't have pressed garlic, use 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 teaspoon finely minced fresh garlic.
- Honey can be swapped with maple syrup or agave nectar for a similar sweetness.
- Discard any leftover glaze that has contacted raw chicken to maintain food safety.
