Sheet Pan Greek Nachos combine the vibrant flavors of Greece with the fun, shareable format of nachos. Featuring ground beef or lamb seasoned with oregano and garlic, topped with melted cheeses, fresh vegetables, Kalamata olives, and creamy tzatziki sauce, these nachos are quick to prepare and perfect for appetizers or a main course.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Nacho Base and Toppings

  • 12 oz pita chips
  • 1 cup shredded white cheese (provolone, white cheddar, mozzarella, or combination)
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 roma or hot house tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup red onion, sliced
  • ⅓ cup Kalamata olives, diced small
  • ½ cup tzatziki sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh herbs (cilantro, mint, or parsley)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the Meat: Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef or lamb along with the minced garlic. Cook until the meat is nicely browned, about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper as it cooks. Once done, remove from heat and drain any excess fat.
  3. Assemble and Bake the Nachos: Arrange the pita chips in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Evenly spread the cooked ground meat over the chips. Sprinkle generously with shredded white cheese followed by crumbled feta. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and everything is heated through.
  4. Add Fresh Toppings: Remove from the oven and immediately top with diced tomatoes, sliced red onions, and Kalamata olives. Dollop the tzatziki sauce evenly across the nachos and sprinkle with chopped fresh herbs of your choice. Serve immediately for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use either ground beef or lamb depending on your preference for a richer or leaner flavor.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with plant-based ground meat alternatives or roasted vegetables.
  • If you don't have pita chips, you can crisp pita bread in the oven before assembling.
  • Adjust the amount of tzatziki sauce to suit your taste for creaminess and tang.
  • Fresh herbs like mint or parsley add a bright finishing flavor but can be omitted if unavailable.
