Ingredients
Pasta
- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
Shrimp and Sauce
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup white wine or chicken broth
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- 1 cup heavy cream
Cheese and Garnish
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the assembled pasta dish.
- Cook Pasta: Boil the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain thoroughly and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until aromatic but not browned.
- Cook Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes until they become pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare Sauce: Pour the white wine or chicken broth into the skillet, scraping the bottom to release any browned bits. Allow it to simmer gently for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Combine Flavors: Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and heavy cream to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Toss Pasta: Return the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss well to coat all strands with the creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
- Assemble Dish: Transfer the sauced pasta into a large baking dish, spreading evenly. Arrange the cooked shrimp evenly on top of the pasta.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese over the shrimp and pasta to create a cheesy topping.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the dish from the oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately while hot and creamy.
Notes
- Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor; frozen shrimp can be used but should be fully thawed and patted dry.
- You can substitute the white wine with chicken broth if preferred for a milder flavor.
- Feel free to add more red pepper flakes for extra heat or omit for a milder taste.
- Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses can be adjusted to suit your preference for cheesiness.
- This dish can be made ahead and baked just before serving, making it convenient for entertaining.
