Indulge in the ultimate campfire treat made effortlessly in your oven with this gooey and delicious S'mores Dip. Featuring melted chocolate chips layered with soft, toasted marshmallows, this dip is perfect for dipping graham crackers and fresh strawberries, making it a fun and shareable dessert for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

Chocolate Layer

  • 24 ounces (two 12-ounce bags) chocolate chips (your favorite flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

Marshmallow Layer

  • 12-ounce bag large marshmallows

Dippers

  • Graham crackers
  • Fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for melting the chocolate and toasting the marshmallows.
  2. Prepare Chocolate Base: Add the chocolate chips to the bottom of a 12-inch cast-iron skillet or any broiler-safe baking dish, spreading them evenly.
  3. Add Butter: Scatter the thinly sliced unsalted butter across the chocolate chips to help create a smooth, glossy melt.
  4. Melt Chocolate: Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 3 to 4 minutes until the chocolate chips start to melt and look glossy instead of matte. Stir gently with a spoon if needed—some chunks may remain, which is fine.
  5. Layer Marshmallows: Arrange the large marshmallows on top of the melted chocolate, placing them cut side up for an attractive presentation.
  6. Toast Marshmallows: Return the skillet to the oven and bake for an additional 3 to 4 minutes until the marshmallows soften and begin to droop, turning slightly golden. For a more toasted finish, switch your oven to broil on high, ensure the rack is in the middle, then broil the skillet just until the marshmallows reach your desired level of toastiness.
  7. Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven carefully and serve immediately with graham crackers and fresh strawberries for dipping.

Notes

  • Use a cast-iron skillet or broiler-safe dish to ensure even heat distribution and avoid damage under the broiler.
  • You can customize the flavor of the chocolate chips (milk, dark, semi-sweet, or flavored) to suit your preference.
  • Watch the marshmallows closely while broiling to prevent burning since they toast very quickly.
  • Fresh strawberries add a refreshing contrast to the richness of the dip.
  • Leftovers can be gently reheated in the oven but are best enjoyed fresh.
