Ingredients
Strawberry Sauce
- 1 pound fresh sliced strawberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar (vanilla sugar recommended)
Float
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream or strawberry ice cream, or a mix of both
- 1 can strawberry soda, chilled
Instructions
- Prepare Strawberry Sauce: In a bowl, toss the sliced fresh strawberries with sugar. Let the mixture sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to allow the strawberries to release their natural juices and form a flavorful sauce.
- Assemble the Float: In a glass, alternate by adding a scoop of ice cream followed by a generous spoonful of the fresh strawberry sauce. Repeat until the glass is filled to your preference.
- Add the Soda: Slowly pour chilled strawberry soda over the ice cream and strawberry layers to fill the glass, allowing the fizz to enhance the texture and flavor of the float.
- Optional Garnish: Top with whipped cream if desired for extra indulgence and presentation.
Notes
- Store all components separately until ready to serve. Keep vanilla ice cream frozen and strawberrie slices plus strawberry soda refrigerated.
- Floats are best enjoyed immediately after assembling and are not recommended for storage after mixing.
- Freezing assembled floats is discouraged as the soda loses its fizz and strawberries change texture when thawed.
