- 500 ml readymade custard
Whipped Orange Cream
- 450 ml double cream
- Zest of 1 orange
- 2 tbsp icing sugar
- 2 tbsp Cointreau
Chocolate Orange Swiss Roll
- 1 jumbo chocolate Swiss roll
- Juice of 1 orange

Everything Else
- 2 tins mandarin segments (or fresh slices from an orange)
- 1 Terry's chocolate orange
- Grated chocolate (for decoration)
- Orange zest (for decoration)
- Festive sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate: Carefully melt 150g of Terry's chocolate orange until smooth, taking care to avoid burning.
- Prepare Chocolate Orange Custard: Pour 500 ml readymade custard into a bowl, add the melted chocolate, and mix until smooth. If the mixture is lumpy, heat gently in a pan over low-medium heat while stirring until fully smooth.
- Make Whipped Orange Cream: In a bowl, whisk 450 ml double cream with 2 tbsp of Cointreau, 2 tbsp icing sugar, and the zest of one orange until soft peaks form.
- Prepare Swiss Roll: Slice the jumbo chocolate Swiss roll into 1-2 cm thick slices.
- Flavor Swiss Roll: Sprinkle the Swiss roll slices with 3-4 tbsp Cointreau and the juice of one orange, allowing them to soak slightly.
- Build the Trifle Base: Arrange slices of Swiss roll around the edge and bottom of the trifle bowl.
- Add Custard Layer: Pour half of the chocolate orange custard over the Swiss roll slices, spreading evenly.
- Add Mandarin Segments: Layer 2 tins of mandarin segments on top of the custard, adding more Swiss roll slices if desired.
- Add Remaining Custard: Pour the rest of the chocolate orange custard over the mandarin and Swiss roll layers.
- Top with Whipped Cream and Decorate: Spread the whipped orange cream over the top. Decorate with Terry's chocolate orange slices, grated chocolate, extra orange zest, and festive sprinkles.
- Chill: Refrigerate the trifle for a period to allow it to set, so the custard thickens slightly, creating the perfect consistency.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once set, the trifle is ready to serve and enjoy as a deliciously festive dessert.
