Ingredients
For the Fish:
- 12 ounces boneless, skinless white fish fillets (such as cod, halibut, branzino)
- 1 teaspoon salt, divided
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup panko crumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- Olive oil spray
For the Tacos:
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 3 cups chopped white cabbage
- Fresh dill, for topping
- 8 small flour tortillas, warmed (such as mission street taco flour tortillas)
- 8 lemon wedges, for serving
Mint Tzatziki Sauce:
- 3/4 cup Stonyfield Plain 0% Fat Greek Yogurt
- 1/3 cup grated cucumber, seeds and skin removed (from 1 medium cucumber)
- 1 small clove garlic, crushed
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 + 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- Fresh black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: Place grated cucumber in a mini food processor or grate with a box cheese grater. Drain the liquid from the cucumber using a metal strainer and press with the back of a spoon to remove excess moisture. Combine the drained cucumber with Greek yogurt, crushed garlic, lemon juice, chopped mint, chopped dill, kosher salt, and fresh black pepper. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Season and Prep the Fish: Season the white fish fillets with 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cut the fish into 8 evenly sized strips. Set up a breading station with flour on one plate, beaten egg in a shallow bowl, and panko crumbs mixed with remaining salt, garlic powder, and oregano on another plate.
- Bread the Fish: Dredge each fish strip first in the flour, shaking off the excess, then dip into the beaten egg, and finally coat thoroughly with the panko breadcrumb mixture. Place the breaded fish strips on a board lined with parchment or wax paper. Spray both sides lightly with olive oil spray.
- Cook Using Air Fryer Method: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Arrange the breaded fish in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 4 minutes, then turn the fish and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the fish is golden and crisp. Alternatively, use the oven method if preferred.
- Cook Using Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Place the breaded fish on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes, turn the fish strips over, and bake another 5 to 6 minutes until they are golden and crisp.
- Assemble the Tacos: Spread 1/4 cup of chopped white cabbage onto each warmed flour tortilla. Add a piece of cooked fish on top of the cabbage. Spoon a generous amount of the chilled mint tzatziki sauce over the fish, then top with diced tomatoes and red onions. Garnish with fresh dill and serve with a lemon wedge to squeeze over the tacos.

Notes
- Removing excess moisture from the grated cucumber is key to prevent a watery tzatziki sauce.
- If you do not have an air fryer, baking the fish in the oven at 425°F works just as well for a crispy finish.
- Use fresh herbs like dill and mint for the best flavor in the sauce and toppings.
- Warming tortillas before assembling helps keep them flexible and enhances the taco experience.
- You can substitute white fish with any mild flaky fish you prefer.
- For a gluten-free option, substitute panko and flour with gluten-free alternatives.
